A series of colourful works inspired by Natalia’s meanderings through the Pilbara. Colourful and gestural, Natalia focuses on capturing the essence of place, rather than true depictions.
'Oasis' as a theme itself developed somewhere in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic as a response to the increasingly palpable need in her client work and the broader sphere of the global community for sanctuary, reprieve and replenishment.
Resting on the banks of a gorge, drinking in the sweet nectar of life, a fantastical dream brought to life in the Pilbara; Natalia has quested to paint works from her essential nature as influenced by experiencing a real life oasis in the West Australian desert.
She is thankful for the opportunity to experience the sacred land or Ngurrra of the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi people, the traditional owners and custodians. Special thanks to Clinton Walker.
